A kingdom between sky and sea

Ferrata of Tavolara

The Ferrata di Tavolara is a small protected trail that allows you to reach the summit of Punta Cannone. It can be reached through a challenging trek starting from the Spalmatore di Terra beach.

How difficult is the Ferrata?

The via ferrata is considered easy and is therefore suitable for beginners who for the first time want to experience the sensation of using a harness, helmet and via ferrata kit. The approach trekking to reach the via ferrata is instead to be considered challenging and suitable for people in excellent physical shape who do not suffer from vertigo.

How much does the Via Ferrata and the hike to the summit cost?

The cost of the excursion + via ferrata is € 60 per person and includes the transfer from/to the island and all the equipment needed to face the via ferrata (helmet, via ferrata kit and harness). At the end of the excursion it is possible to enjoy the Tavolara beach and take a swim.

From the Spalmatore di Terra beach you cross a path throught the Mediterranean scrub in correspondence with some calcination furnaces. The path is very steep and immediately gains altitude reaching the upper part of the lower ledge of Tavolara in 40 minutes. Here we await a wonderful vantage point on the west of the island.

From here the path continues halfway up to the Bocca del Cannone: the large valley bordered by Punta Cannone and Punta di Lucca.

We can now take the two via ferrata that lead up to the top of the island reaching its summit in about 3 hours and enjoy an immense and unforgettable panorama.
After a packed lunch we will begin the descent which will also last 3 hours and will lead us back to the beach.

You have to bring with you at least 2 liters of water per person, packed lunch, fruit, snacks and a backpack.
