CANYONING BADDE S'ORCU

Badde Su Achile Orcu (Valley of the Eagle and the Ogre) is a granite canyon located in the municipality of Lodè on the slopes of Montalbo. To face the gorge we must reach the Sant'Anna fraction and then take a small asphalt road that leads us to the start of the canyon. Parked the car along the way we descend along the ridge that immediately reach the river.

The granite environment has been created by the water and immediately creates the appearance of a beautiful gorge. A small 5-meter reappel with waterfall takes us into a beautiful pool with emerald water. We continue the path reaching another small waterfall with a rappel of 6 meters in the pool below. After a few minutes of water trekking we reach a fun toboggan and we face a beautiful rappel under a large granite lintel where fun is guaranteed (C18). The course of the river offers glimpses of nature of enviable beauty, a spectacle of colors and water games. Just a few aquatic steps and we reach another beautiful rappel (C15) at a point where the canyon walls narrow up to a few meters. The next rappel that we will face will certainly be the most evocative, the key step of Badde S'Orcu. A 20-meter rappel in the heart of the Ogre's house! This is the most vertical and exciting descent of today that takes us into a large granite grotto where a continuous drip and many small waterfalls make the place unforgettable.

The course of the canyon continues among imposing granite boulders that lead us to the seventh rappel (C15) really beautiful that leads into a granite siphon with small emerald pool. We are almost at the end of the canyon, now the rocky walls open and lead us at the last rappel of 12 meters at the end of the gorge. From here we go up a small trail that in 25 minutes takes us back to the asphalt road not far from the car.

You have to bring: packed lunch and energy snacks, complete change of shoes and clothing, 2 bottles of 500 ml, swimsuit to wear under the suit. For the canyoning are shoes with rubber sole and terry socks or neoprene socks.
